Institute for Functional Medicine: Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice (AFMCP) UK
October 4-8, 2018— Park Plaza London Riverbank, London, United Kingdom
An epidemic of chronic disease threatens to compromise the health of our population and the effectiveness and economics of our healthcare system. Alarming projections suggest that future generations may have shorter, less healthy lives if current trends continue unchecked.1 Because of its focus on acute care, the current medical model fails to confront both the causes of and solutions for the chronic disease epidemic, and must be replaced with a model of comprehensive care and prevention that is systems-based, integrative, patient-centered, and much more effective. AFMCP™-UK has been designed to meet that challenge. For more information, please visit http://www.afmcp-uk.org/functional-medicine-afmcp-uk/

Tackling Patients with Severe Pathology
October 19-21, 2018—Hyatt Regency Cleveland at the Arcade, Cleveland, Ohio
Homeopathy has been found to be effective in the great majority of patients suffering from infectious and autoimmune diseases. The limits of homeopathic treatment are encountered in the treatment of patients with Parkinson's disease, ALS and late-stage cancers. After finding a way to treat patients with Parkinson's disease with homeopathy, Dr. Saine began to apply this approach to cancer patients in stages III and IV. In this seminar, he will review case analysis, posology and case management for this cohort of patients. We are fortunate to have the opportunity to learn from Dr. Saine in this seminar. He is recognized as one of the foremost homeopathic teachers and clinicians in the world, with special expertise in extremely difficult cases of severe and advanced pathology.  For more information, please visit http://homeopathyusa.org/

Institute for Functional Medicine: GI Advanced Practice Module 2018 (APM)
October 25-27, 2018— JW Marriott Nashville, Nashville, Tennessee
This Advanced Practice Module takes a whole systems approach to evaluating and treating not only local gastrointestinal disease, but many systemic diseases that are linked to GI dysfunction. This course will supply you with the foundational background, insight, and in-depth clinical thinking to confidently work up and treat patients who may present with conditions, signs, and symptoms indicative of gastrointestinal dysfunction. We will discuss in detail the important laboratory evaluations to be considered, the appropriate clinical connections that must be made, and the treatment approaches that should be used. For more information, please visit https://ifm.org/learning-center/gi-apm-2018/

Institute for Functional Medicine: Detox Advanced Practice Module 2018 (APM)
October 28-30, 2018— JW Marriott Nashville, Nashville, Tennessee
There is persuasive evidence that even low-level toxic exposures contribute to the development of a variety of chronic health conditions, including fatigue, endocrine disruption, and chronic degenerative diseases such as Parkinson's. Given the ubiquitous nature of chemicals in the environment, it is likely that the single exposure model of toxicology is more the exception than the rule. It is therefore critical for clinicians to learn how to assess both exposures and total toxic load to appropriately assess and address each individual's toxicological situation.  For more information, please visit https://ifm.org/learning-center/detox-apm-2018/

Gut Brain Relationship

Over the past five years, amazing research has uncovered much about the relationship between what we eat and its impact on a wide variety of health conditions. Brain health is directly linked to what goes on in the gut. The microbiome affects mood, libido, clarity of thought, and often one's perception of the world. A dysfunctional microbiome could be at the root of headaches, anxiety, inability to concentrate, or even a negative outlook on life.  Put simply, nearly everything about health—how we feel physically, cognitively, and emotionally—can hinge on the state of the microbiome.  During this two-day event, a lineup of experienced professionals who understand this relationship will provide effective tools you can use to assess and treat this critical relationship. http://ivpmeducation.com/

Energy Medicine: Energizing your Holistic Medicine Practice
November 2-3, 2018—Westin Carlsbad Resort & Spa, Carlsbad, California
Energy Medicine is moving into our health care system quickly, powerfully, and none too soon. Conventional medicine right now focuses on illness rather than optimizing health; and that often futilely seeks to identify simple cause-and-effect relationships rather than to grasp how body, mind, and spirit are profoundly interrelated. As a result, we have built a medical system based on drugs and surgery. We are seeing the emergence of a new paradigm and, one whose ancient roots have withstood the test of time. The new paradigm, as Energy Medicine addresses biological processes at their energetic foundation. Join our team as we address issues such as Alzheimer's, Autism, PTSD and a variety of chronic health issues. You will return to your practice open to new information that can be applied to your patients. For more information, please visit http://ivpmeducation.com/

Toxic Load
November 2, 2018—Westin Carlsbad Resort & Spa, Carlsbad, California
Most of us are aware of the thousands of chemical toxins we encounter on a regular basis. These toxins are poisonous substances created biologically through living organisms, or synthetically with chemicals. Toxins can come from either outside or inside our bodies. What other sources of toxins exist? Food, packaging, air, household furnishings and stress are just a few more toxins we are exposed to every day. At this event, we will explore sources of hidden toxins, provide resources for helping your patient's rid them from their body and provide tips on insuring your patients experience a clean healthy life. For more information, please visit http://ivpmeducation.com/

Regenerative Medicine: Applications for Clinical Practices
November 3-4, 2018—Westin Carlsbad Resort & Spa, Carlsbad, California
Regenerative medicine is the process of creating living, functional tissues to repair or replace tissue or organ function lost due to age, disease, damage, or congenital defects. This field holds the promise of regenerating damaged tissues and organs in the body by stimulating previously irreparable organs to heal themselves. Regenerative medicine also empowers scientists to grow tissues and organs in the laboratory and safely implant them when the body cannot heal itself. Importantly, regenerative medicine has the potential to solve the problem of the shortage of organs available through donation compared to the number of patients that require life-saving organ transplantation.  For more information, please visit http://ivpmeducation.com/

Beyond CBD
November 3, 2018—Westin Carlsbad Resort & Spa, Carlsbad, California
The history of hemp dates back thousands of years. It has been a source of food, a culinary oil and even used as a textile, hemp has become a big part of the natural products industry. However, where it stands in the dietary supplement space is more complex. You may know such products as hemp oil or cannabidiol (CBD). But CBD is only one of the components of the hemp plant. During Beyond CBD we will explore many more of the hemp derived components referred to as phytocannabinoids. We will focus on a full spectrum of cannabinoids and plant compounds beyond just CBD. The space has evolved over time as manufacturers, retailers and consumers have become savvier about phytocannabinoids' benefits and complying with regulations. More retailers are carrying phytocannabinoid products which have been selling very well, but as the category finds a strong foothold in the industry, more education is necessary for further demystify phytocannabinoids.
